It's been like forever since I wrote my last blog post. Life has taken us on interesting journey the last few weeks. Steven and I have started helping with the youth at church on Thursdays-which has been so much fun. I have also been asked to teach a high-school girls' Sunday school class starting in September! We have fallen in love with the people at Crosspointe Church in Stillwater, and I'm so excited for the opportunities that we have there.
The Autumn Crochet-Along is in the third week- it's not too late to join if you're still interested in doing it! And now the most exciting news for me: I decided to join Paparazzi as an Independent Consultant! I will still be crocheting and making new designs, but I will also have jewelry for sale! You may have noticed the new jewelry tabs. I will be adding more pieces as I get more in stock! I'm so excited for this new chapter in our lives!

July has been so busy and I finally have a few minutes to write it all down! We went on vacation, bought a pool, and most exciting-FINISHED my kitchen floor! It looks so much better than it did. It was super easy and I would do it again in a heart beat. How did we re-do it? Paint. I painted all of it. My new motto for life: Ice cream, naps, and paint, can fix a lot of problems. Here's what it looked like before(plus Aphrodite kitty): How we did it: Materials: Valspar Bonding Primer-https://www.lowes.com/pd/Valspar-Bonding-Primer-Actual-Net-Contents-128-fl-oz/1000381269 Valspar Floor & Porch Paint- https://www.lowes.com/pd/Valspar-Base-2-Tintable-Satin-Interior-Exterior-Porch-and-Floor-Paint-Actual-Net-Contents-124-fl-oz/3083589 Valspar Glitter-https://www.lowes.com/pd/Valspar-Silver-Glitter-Paint-Color-Flakes/3172069 I had some Valspar Bonding Primer left over from when I did the bathroom tile back in October. So I thought "what the heck, it can't look any worse" and started off on my painting journey. Now when I say "we" did it, I really mean me and the 1000000 of pet hairs that I constantly swept up. Steven Just lets me do what I want and hands me a hammer when I need it-and hauls the trash out when I rip things out. Step 1: Sweep. And mop. Then sweep/vacuum like 10000 more times cause that pet fur just floats back. Step 2: if any of your vinyl tiles need replaced do that now. I had to replace 4 of them. You can get cheap ones at Lowe's. Step 3: Grab a paint brush(or roller, but I used a brush) and start painting the bonding primer on. I did NOT sand anything. I googled before I did any of this and pretty much figure that there's a high chance of asbestos or lead in the vinyl that was there so I didn't risk it. Let dry overnight. Step 4: Repeat step 1 and 3. After you let this coat of primer dry over night it's time for the fun stuff!
Step 5: Sweep again. And again. Step 6: I used Valspar Glitter in the Floor & Porch paint. So mix it in now if you want to use it. Then grab your paint brush and start painting! I only did 1 coat of this because I didn't feel like I needed 2-3 coats. Step 7: This is the hard part-You have to let the Floor & Porch paint dry for 3 days to be fully cured. We timed it so we would be on vacation and Iris puppy would be boarded at the vet. After your 3 days is up you can enjoy your floor! No sealer is needed-and if you decided you don't like the color you can change it! See? It's super easy and I did it for less than $100! EII know it’s been awhile since my last post but we’ve been so busy! I started my own E-Store, helped with VBS, and decided to paint the kitchen floor! I’ve been working on the Autumn CAL that will start in August, I hope you join me! I’m so excited to start releasing all the graphs and patterns! Anyways, on the new E-Store, you can purchase all the patterns that were on Ravelry and then some! I have a couple free patterns on there too! For the Crochet-Along you just need to get the Autumn CAL pack and you will get coupons for all of the graphs to download free! Coupons NEVER expire so you don’t have to worry about missing a deadline! VBS was fun to help out with this week. Most people know that I’m not a “kid” person, but I will totally support our church kids-by doing registration and handing out name badges. I love being support staff for functions like that. We have the coolest pastor and he dressed up like Paul in jail all week! We all had so much fun but we were all wore out by Friday. And since I was wore out-I decided to paint my kitchen floor(I know I’m crazy.... and tired). I decided a white floor with silver glitter is what I wanted in my kitchen-and so far I love it! I’m done with the whole floor yet but the section I tried first turned out great! I would love to hear what projects you’ve been working on this last week! Show me in the comments or hit me up on Facebook! As some of you probably heard, Ravelry has created a new policy that bans any support of our President Donald Trump. For this reason I will no longer offer any patterns on Ravelry and I have deleted my account. I cannot, and I refuse, to support a business that will not allow support of our current president-regardless of beliefs. I am all for leaving politics out of crafting, but when projects and posts that are strongly against Trump (F-Trump and such) are still allowed, I cannot stand for that. Ravelry can do whatever they want and single out whoever they want, but it is also my choice to no longer use their platform any longer.
After frying my brain looking through Oklahoma tax codes and getting my ducks in a row, I have launched my own E-Store where you can access all of my patterns that were for sale on Ravelry. The Autumn Crochet along has changed slightly- It will now be a pattern package that will include all 9 graphs, bordering and joining instructions released all at once. It will be the same $10 it was listed for on Ravelry but there will not be a weekly release. If you would like to read the new Ravelry policy for yourself you can here: https://www.ravelry.com/content/no-trump And If you would like to visit my new E-Store you can here(and see my cute puppy): https://badesigned.weebly.com/e-store.html Vining with Envy is finally available for purchase! I've gotten the testing and editing done and it's ready to become your favorite pillow pattern! After a couple months of crocheting, figuring, testing, and lots of yarn later it's here! It is available for individual purchase on Ravelry, but it will also be part of a set a little later this summer! Here's the Ravelry Link: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vining-with-envy And I would love to see all your projects! Join me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BADesignedCrochetWithME/ The Autumn CAL 2019 graphghan is officially available on Ravelry for purchase! The cost $10 and that will include 9 graphs, release over a 9 week period starting in August, and instructions for joining and bordering the final product! When you purchase the CAL package you will get a welcome email from me and an invitation to join my Facebook group B.A.Designed Crochet with Me!
Here are the links to Ravelry and Facebook. Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/autumn-blanket-2019-cal Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BADesignedCrochetWithME/ This August we're going to have a Crochet-Along! The patterns are graphed, the PDF files made, and it's ready to be tested out(If you want to test it, shoot me a comment or an email)! I'm so excited to start releasing patterns! Patterns will be released on Ravelry and I'll add a link once it's ready! We're going to start in August and each week one graph will be released with the final joining and bordering instructions included in week 9-the end September! We'll be done in time to take your blanket to bonfires and tailgating parties! I can't show the finish product yet, but I can show you a sneak peak! Who want's to crochet along with me this August?
I'm so excited that to share with everyone what I've been up to in my free time lately! I have a couple projects bouncing around and one of them is a Fall Barn scene graphghan! I can't show you the full picture yet, but I can show you a blurred image! I will be submitting this graph to an online publication soon, so you'll have to check back for updates!
I also have a fall C2C crochet-along in mind! Let me know your thoughts! As most of you know I'm from Oklahoma. While I live in Stillwater, I work in Perry. Perry happens to have the cutest little yarn shop, Noble County Yarns. Gail, the owner, has just about anything you could need, from various yarn styles, fibbers, and price points, to accessories and tools, and even a few hand made items that are available for purchase. I've never had a bad purchase, and while I don't get in there as often as I would like, she always treats me like I come in there everyday. She remembers that I crochet, always asks what I'm working on now, and shows me her latest project-which are usually really cool, this time she showed me some crocheted squares that were made with tiny thread that she manually ombred it out. While I was in there Friday I was able to pick up some Patons Metallic woven yarn for another pillow. I also have my pillow pattern out for testing so maybe it'll be ready soon! Here's a link Nobel County Yarns Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/shops/noble-county-yarns And here's a link to my facebook group-show me what you've been up to! https://www.facebook.com/groups/BADesignedCrochetWithME/ Yesterday Steven and I said goodbye to a couple of good friends. I may have cried (a lot) because Laura is my best friend. But to celebrate their moving and starting a new life in Ohio tomorrow, I made them a graphgan with their initial and wedding year at the bottom. I've been asked a few times for the pattern, so it's located on the free patterns tab here:https://badesigned.weebly.com/free-patterns.html It's an excel file that just has a few graphs of things I've thought about making. I don't take credit for designing any of these designs as I found pictures from Pinterest and just converted them to a easy to read graph, I don't know who to credit for these, but if I find out I'll add their link later!
